Pavement Investigations are
used to investigate the existing pavement structure or a proposed
location for a pavement structure so that a proper engineering
design or rehabilitation can be completed. Over the past 5
years we have successfully drilled over 700 boreholes for
the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) in support of their
pavement management and paving renewal programs.
As well as HRM, S & D Drilling has completed
pavement investigations for the New Brunswick Department of
Transportation and the Nova Scotia Department of Transportation
as well as airport authorities and large commercial facilities.
Pavement investigations are a quick and cost effective means
of obtaining information such as asphalt thickness, granular
thickness and subgrade materials.
